Wait, Watch, Listen, Learn

One of the things that the Lord has said to me is, Wait, Watch, Listen, Learn– I looked back in my journal to see how long ago that was and it was in February of 2021, so about a year and 1/2 ago.

As I’m sure you all can agree, waiting is hard!  But I have discovered a few things in this waiting, watching, listening and learning phase:

• Starting with, you don’t know, what you don’t know, until you get into it and you realize you didn’t know!  (if you’ve been there, you know… )
• Even when it seems like no one is listening, keep on going!
• Be okay with just one person – you’re not ready for 5000 yet! (or no people – I’ve done that  – makes you wonder if it’s a lesson in humility and to see if you actually want what God has planned for you, or if you’re just a snowflake that’s going to melt when there is a little heat…)
• In the waiting, there should be growth – it’s a journey – it’s about who you become… 

God does not normally throw us into the deep end of the pool unprepared (we can’t help anyone if we drown on the way there) – He knows, what we don’t know, and if we let Him, He will guide us through our training until we are ready!

One of my favorite examples of waiting, watching, listening and learning is in the bible, and it’s the story of Jacob. He goes from his brothers selling him into slavery, being falsely accused and thrown into prison, all the while maintaining and holding unto his faith in God, to being second in command in Egypt! (about 13 years)

So… are you in this hard place? Don’t give up! God is preparing you; you are in training! It is God who designed you for a purpose and gave you the desires of your heart! Seek His will, His way, in His timing – and He will get you there!
